Job Development: Small Towns- Big Opportunities
Sep 22, 2010
Overview: Job development opportunities in small towns often exceed expectations if a job developer knows where and how to look for them. These opportunities arise from the nature, culture and uniqueness of each small town. To take advantage of job opportunities in small towns, job developers should concentrate their initial efforts on prospecting for employers and then nurturing those prospective employers into job opportunities. This desktop training explores techniques to leverage the unique setting of small towns, explore prospecting methods designed to engage employers, develop personal prospecting plans, and implement techniques to foster prospective employers for job opportunities. This desktop training is the first in a series of three. The other two desktops are scheduled as follows:
Uncovering Employer Needs - October 22, 2010
Closing the Deal - November 17, 2010
Format: Desktop learning session
Desktop sessions are a combination of lecture and discussion. You can participate at your own computer workstation. This format offers the added value of an interactive environment with rehabilitation peers/colleagues
